All are united in furthering the aim of high quality ventures delivered safely and responsibly to enable those participating to gain the greatest benefit from the personal challenges offered and the inculcation of a lifelong zest for the outdoors.

British Exploring Society is a world class youth development charity founded on the belief that challenging experiences can change lives.

Our vision is to provide equal access to challenging learning and adventure in the wilderness as an unbeatable preparation for adult life, building more resilient, confident futures for young people whose lives have been stalled by the pandemic.

Our expeditions take young people to remote locations where they face challenges, gain skills, and learn about themselves and the fragile environments that they explore, empowering and equipping them with the courage, skills, resilience and determination to make the most of their future.

No young person pays to participate on our programmes and are given a Fundraising Target based on their financial situation to show their commitment to taking part.

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community. Our programme covers a wide variety of topics, and we also offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Queen’s Guide award programmes, both of which involve an expedition section.

The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that helps young people to defy limitations through learning and adventures in the wild. We challenge young people to never give up, to change their perspective and to learn the most important lesson: to believe in themselves.

Aged 10-22 years? Our Summer Adventures make the most of nature’s playground with activities like gorge scrambling, rock climbing, cutter sailing and canoeing. A dedicated instructor for you the whole time, offering encouragement when you need it most and help if things get tough. Experience at least one overnight expedition where you’ll camp in the wild, either in a mountain hut, a tent or bivvying under the stars.

For summer 2022 we offer a range of adventures, from a 5-day Basecamp introduction, through 7-day Ridge & 14-day Summit experiences to a fully expeditionary 19-day Pinnacle adventure in Snowdonia, The Lakes or Scottish Highlands.

We offer funding to access these adventures via our Adventure Fund.

At the Scouts we believe that through adventure we challenge individuals so that they learn and experience new things and enrich their lives.

Each week over 400,000 young people and 100,000 adult volunteers take part in Scouting projects and activities at the heart of the UK’s communities. The Scouts programme is made up of activities focused on outdoor and adventure, world and skills and is planned and delivered in partnership between adults and young people. Scouts across the UK take part in a wide range of UK and overseas expeditions, exploring new environments and developing themselves as global citizens. These trips are managed locally, driven by the interests of the young people, supported by adults and reach all parts of the globe.
