Nepal, 15th July – 4th August 2014
On the first few days we stayed in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu. We went sightseeing around the capital visiting various temples such as monkey temple, as well as the river on which they carry out ceremonies for those deceased.
We then went to begin our project at a school on the outskirts of Kathmandu which involved us building a wall around the school and teaching the children English.
Following this we went to stay at Chitwan national park, during which we went on an elephant safari, crocodile safari and on a jungle walk. As well as going to see a cultural show about Nepal with traditional music and dancing.
Lastly we went on an 8 day hike to Annapurna base camp (4130m) which involved 5 days up and 3 days down, staying at tea houses along the way.
